According to Anthropic, Claude Opus 5.5 matches the performance of Claude Fable 5.1 across most tasks. Notably, it achieves this while costing approximately 40 percent less to operate than Opus 5. Anthropic's internal benchmarks also indicate that Opus 5.5 outperforms OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra on the majority of tasks, despite its lower cost.
